I have been paddlesurfing for the last two years on Long Island in NY. I was working my shoulders way too hard during my 2-3 hour sessions. over the past couple of months I have been trying to visualize pulling my feet forward across the water, which results in way more core use and less shoulder fatigue. I think this is similar to your hip hinge analogy. I’ll try the paddle depth technique…I have not focused on this, rather I have been working on a forward reach with a quick exit after a short stroke to maintain a higher cadence.

I can chase my kids around doing most of them right in the house or yard. It’s not the soft sand, but I have to take what I can get. Thank you.
