Three hours of stand up surfing on the south side this morning. A really good Maliko run this afternoon, plus I played fighter jet on the way down with Randy and Livio to get some Go Pro footage. Now a cold Guinness at sunset. I WIN. It’s a fight for second, good luck. I’ll be waiting at the finish line with a cold beer for ya.
Aloha,

Dave, that sounds like a great day. I hope you’ve got a spot over there that has Guiness on draft!
I’ve been doing the RocKalama beach workouts three to four days a week since camp-thanks again.
Cheers, Charlie Venezia
Nice work Charlie. Keep it up. Aloha, Dave
I had two hours at Portlock, then an afternoon watching the Holy Grail with my daughter, followed by a night out playing piano in a bar while drinking Guinness last night. You win, but I had some fun too.
Dave,
the fate made me end up behind you on the highway and I revealed your secret south shore spot: http://mauisurfreport.blogspot.com/2010/06/dave-kalamas-secret-spot-revealed.html
Your blog is great. Almost as good as mine…
It might be closer to a draw than I thought. We tie. Aloha, Dave
I can see I’m going to have to start using the bat cave entrance.
Dave-
Nah, you win for now brother…You spend the most time working hard at what you love to do and make a living from it! So great…I love what you and your friends do. I just finished “The Wave” and loved it. It was scary, motivational, and inspirational all at the same time. I wasn’t able to make the Kalama Kamp in May because my health was still bad, but i’m getting better and sincerely hope you put more on. Actually, any kind of Stand Up, surf, waterman, Ladder Surfing on top of a surfboard class you put on…I’ll be there…Hell, I don’t care where it is, i’ll find a way. Just say where and when.
Best,
Paul C.
Yes – you win.
But I had an awesome fathers day.
33.5 km in under 3 hours.

Dave, coming from the ‘Ould Country’, I’m excited to learn you’re a fan of the ‘Black Stuff’. Guinness is definitely underrated as a sports supplement/recovery drink – it’s the iron you know!
Did you know Olympian Usain Bolt swears by it – putting his success down to a diet of “Guinness and chicken nuggets”! In Jamaica, they blend it and give it to the kids. Back home, doctor’s advise expectant mother’s who are anaemic to imbibe moderately – imagine what would happen to the doctor that did that in the US.
They say the carp in the lake where the mash washings are flushed, next to the brewery outside Dublin, are so well nourished they are 3′…..between the eyes.
Pity it’s so expensive here on Maui. See you out there. Great blog btw. Cheers, Noel
